HAIR DONATION INFORMATION!
Little Lady Locks accepts human hair donations and human hair extensions to create our wigs, hair systems, and customise all of our hair accessories.
Each wig is made up of around 300 grams of hair, which is around 12 pony tails. So as you can imagine we need all of the help that we can get collecting raw hair.
Once we receive the hair donations, it costs our charity £500 to transform the hair into one child's wig. Our UK based wig makers, knot each strand of hair onto a wig cap, which can take up to 60hours/ 2weeks - How Incredible!
LittleLadyLocks relies heavily on our wonderful supporters raising funds by Sponsored Hair Cuts. If you think that you could raise £10 or more from family and friends please tick the Sponsor box on your Hair Donation Form and we will send you out a FREE Fundraising Pack.
If you do not have the time to fundraise for us, not to worry we are extremely grateful for your beautiful hair.
HAIR DONATION GUIDELINES
Please ensure you first fill out the Hair Donation Form below. Once you have completed the online form, you can then send us your hair donation in a postage bag and remember to include your full name and contact details. Please ensure the name on the form matches the one sent with your hair donation package!
Hair we accept:
- Human hair over 7 inches/18 cm
- Any gender
- Any age
- Any ethnicity
- Grey hair
- Coloured/highlighted/bleached hair
- Curly hair (measuring 7 inches when curly)
- Layered hair (ensure more bobbles are used to secure loose hair)
Why we ALWAYS need your hair donations?
Human hair costs hundreds of pounds to purchase, that's why our charity needs your help collecting hair.
All of our wigs, hair replacement systems, hats, bandanas and headbands are handmade from 100% human hair. Our goal is to replicate the Little Lady's natural hair before they lost it to a hair loss conditions or treatments such as chemotherapy.
HOW DO I DONATE/SEND MY HAIR?
You have 3 options available for donating hair:
1. Send your hair donation direct to us
If your hair is already cut and ready to post out please see below for our postal address and if you would like a certificate/acknowledgement of us receiving your hair donation please ensure to print and fill in our Hair Donation form with your details on and include this in your package.
2. Book in with one of our Hair Fairy Salons
We have multiple hair and beauty salons across the U.K that help us collect hair. These are called our Hair Fairies, they will take care of sending your donation to us, once your service has been completed. Click here to find your nearest Hair Fairy salon.
3. Book in with your own Hairdresser
If your hairdresser is not part of our Hair Fairy network, you can either have your hair cut and take your donation to a local Hair Fairy salon and they will forward this to the charity, or you can send your donation directly to the charity at the address below.
